Laura Roy is a Canadian artist, musician, and Grammy-nominated songwriter originally from Canning, Nova Scotia. Her music combines soulful melodies and introspective songwriting with contemporary folk influences. A graduate of the NSCC Music Arts program, Laura was a four-year participant in the prestigious Gordie Sampson Songwriting Camp. She gained early acclaim with her award-winning EP Forte, which earned the East Coast Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. Since then, she has released two introspective EPs, Tides and Odyssey, further showcasing her innovative artistry. Now based in London, UK, Laura’s music has been spotlighted by CBC and BBC Radio and featured on prominent Spotify editorial playlists like R&B Weekly and New Music Friday UK. As a sought-after songwriter, Laura earned two Grammy nominations as a contributing songwriter on Doja Cat’s Planet Her album. She has also toured and collaborated as a vocalist and songwriter with major artists, including Sabrina Carpenter (Wembley Stadium and BBC Live Lounge), JP Cooper, Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Camila Cabello, Lianne La Havas, Mabel, and Jordan Rakei. With her soulful melodies and impactful storytelling, Laura continues to establish herself as a standout voice in contemporary music.
