Laura Roy is a Canadian artist, musician, and Grammy-nominated songwriter known for blending soulful melodies with introspective songwriting and contemporary R&B and folk influences. Originally from Canning, Nova Scotia, she is a graduate of the NSCC Music Arts program and a four-year alumna of the prestigious Gordie Sampson Songwriting Camp. A sought-after collaborator and vocalist, Laura has toured the world with various UK and US acts and earned two Grammy nominations for her contributions to Doja Cat’s Planet Her album. She has worked as a backing vocalist for major artists including Sabrina Carpenter (Wembley Stadium Performance and BBC Live Lounge), JP Cooper, Dua Lipa and Jordan Rakei. A 2× ECMA award-winning artist, Laura has been based in London, UK since 2017, where she has been dedicated to developing and honing her songwriting and artistry. After releasing multiple soul-stirring EPs and various collaborations that gained support from CBC and BBC Radio, Laura recently returned home to record her debut album in her home province of Nova Scotia. The album is set for release in 2026. With her distinctive voice and commitment to authentic storytelling, Laura Roy continues to establish herself as a standout force in contemporary music.
